Aviation for Compensation?

cessna aviation

I am intending to fly a ferry flight (Cessna Cardinal, not RG) from Tennessee to Texas. I intend to have a pilot fly me to the departure point. That pilot will return home after dropping me off.

Both of us are Commercial/Instrument.

I will not take any money for this. I will take the flight hours as my compensation.

For the trip to the departure point, the owner of the aircraft I will ferry will cover the costs. During the ferry flight, the owner will cover the cost.

I am looking for areas where I am legally exposed. It seems that for my friend to fly me to Tennessee would ALMOST count as ‘on demand’ but, then again, he could fly for money on demand, non-scheduled. (one of my concerns)

I am not taking $$, but the hours in my logbook will count as compensation, which shouldn’t be a problem, as I am instrument rated.

Basically, I’m looking for someone to point me in the right direction to find the answers. There are so many places I could look, so I’m trying to simplify it.

Anything will be helpful. More or less I’m looking for a FAR that would address the above described relationships.

Any insight? Please advise.

Thanks!

what should i major in? what job gives a high salary?

aviation salary

hello, i was majoring in aviation but found out they get pay really less until like when you’re 50 when you’re a captain thats when you start making alot. i dont want to be making less than all of my friends when i get out of college.

what major would you recommend? im interested in cars..and i dont want to be a lawyer, doctor, nurse? what other options do i have? if you’re suggesting a job please tell me how the salary is, thanks :) to grizz: ugh i do rather do what i love to do than do it for money, but face it, money makes you happy and i know money dont buy everything.

plus piloting gives 15k/year start off, if you can live with that then good for you, not me.

If you hated job, wanted to go to school, had no money but equity in house would you sell house to live dream?

aviation salary

Theres enough equity in the house to be able to live for at least 5 years at a comfortable level. I would be able live my dream of going to college, attend classes fulltime, concentrate on aviation school and get my degree within 2 years. I would graduate with a commercial pilots license but am uncertain as to what my salary or job prospects would be. I live in a hot housing market where I can no longer afford to buy a house thus my question.
