How do airplane manufactures deliver airplanes?

cessna aviation

Like, how does a Cessna get to London when their made in Kansas?
Also, who pays for the shipment of a general aviation aircraft or a Commercial airliner when ordered from the manufacturer? For a 737, how does it get to China from Boeing Field?

General aviation pilots — what would be your dream airplane?

cessna aviation

For me, it would be a low-time Cessna Cardinal RG retrofitted with a 230 hp Lycoming IO-540-AB1A5 engine with Hartzell 3 blade constant speed prop, a “modern” paint job (like the 2006-2009 Cessna Skylanes), a refurbished luxury leather interior which resembles that of a Cirrus SR22, walnut yokes and trim, full G1000 or Avidyne panel with traffic and XM-weather, WAAS linked to a dual axis autopilot, and some pimp exterior LED light mods.

I think this could all be had for one quarter of the cost of a new Cessna 400.

What about you?

I’m looking at investing in Textron and Exxon Mobil. Any thoughts?

cessna aviation

I’m in my mid-twenties so I’m looking at investing in stocks as oppose to bonds or funds, and these two companies are looking good due to the fact that Exxon is about to invest billioins and billions into exploration over the next 3 years (and we all know that oil prices are inevitably going to go back up to $4/gal), and Textron (despite being pennies above their all-time low) is projected to come out of this recession with their Cessna company maintaining the position of the general aviation leader. Any additional thoughts or insight?

General Aviation on Fourth of July any TFR’s?

cessna aviation

Im looking to fly my cessna on the night that our city shoots off fireworks, however I would assume that there are either some TFR’s or procedure to follow. This will be my first fourth of july as a pilot and i kinda wanted see the fireworks from a different view, but at a safe distance. Any idea what to expect? Can it even be done? Have you ever done it before?

In your opinion, what do you consider the worst general aviation plane made still seen today?

cessna aviation

All different types of planes can be seen at every airport. Some people love certain planes for unknown reasons. I consider the Cessna 177 Cardinal to be one of the worst investments in a general aviation plane. Please share your opinions.
