Engine failure forced gerald to pilot his Cessna 150 to an emergency landing. To land, gerald’s plane glided to 17,000 ft over a 15,000-ft stretch of deserted highway. From what altitude did the descent begin?

I tell a co-worker that I am going to get a Cessna 150 for recreating and sightseeing on the weekends.

He proceeds to tell me that they are death traps, thousands of accidents are listed in NTSB database, the yoke can fall off into your hand, they are too light for safe aviation, underpowered, our base elevation is too high for that airplane, might as well change all the cables and pulleys before my first flight, etc. Wow! He owns a Piper, so I take all this with a grain of salt. But it did get me thinking.

I have found a few guides for buying a Cessna 150 but I was wondering if you have a favorite?

I wonder if the cost of aviation will come down in the future i have plans that i want to buy a small plane first and then use it to train in it to keep it cheaper. now i was able to pass a 2nd class medical so i could possibly fly for some company but no so sure as i did nothing with it due to finincial reasons i am out of debt but at the same time i dont want to throw a whole lot of money into it. i plan to get like a used cessna 150 i know a bit cramped or a cherokee something along those lines but not anytime soon.
p.s i work for dominos full time averaging a little under 30k a year and i am also working on learning a wood shop job with my dad. so when he retires we will get into it.

Normally I use 100LL in a Cessna 150 or 172, but if I go to an airport that only has 100, is that going to make much of a difference?

Just curious as to what you guys think is the best engine bast on life of engine, cost of repairs, engines you would find on light aircraft such as cessna 150 172 182 pipers etc. Also what about it makes it the best in your eyes.
