Is it possible to build up a tolerance for Air Sickness?

cessna aviation

I recently flew in a small Cessna 182 and it was my first experience in an airplane. I wasn’t expecting the ride to cause me to feel motion sickness. Fortunately I made it through two trips without passing out or throwing up. On the third trip I found that sitting closer to the center of gravity helped. However, I’m considering aviation as a career and was wondering if I’ll be able to build up a tolerance for it.

It is possible to build tolerance, my dad built tolerance to a small fighter when he kept getting sick.
Although, some people can never get over it, while some can.

Yes, you can build tolerance for motion sickness. Many prospective pilots have trouble with it, but it usually resolves during the course of training. Even astronauts get motion sickness on their first trips into space. Unless it’s really bad and won’t go away, you should be able to get over it and work in aviation with no problem.
